About Charter School
Provident Charter School (PCS) is a specialized charter school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dedicated to educating students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. As the only school of its kind in southwestern Pennsylvania, PCS provides a structured, supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of struggling readers.
With a curriculum centered on multisensory instruction, PCS integrates the Wilson Reading System®, flexible leveled grouping, and individualized assistive technology to help students succeed. The school offers 25% more instructional hours than traditional schools, ensuring students receive explicit, remedial instruction to build confidence and academic skills.
Founded in 2016, PCS serves students in Grades 2-8, offering a compassionate learning community where perseverance, self-control, and empathy are instilled daily.
